The shamanic journey is an ancient traditional practice. In BTE it is used to contact the archetypical qualities that live in the depth of the organismic Self
In early shamanic societies, many shamans were initiated because of their ability to experience so called shamanic journeys or soul flights. In fact in many ancient traditions it is believed that part of the soul is free to leave the body.
Shamans usually journey to upper, middle or lower worlds, but there is a wide variety of destinations depending on the cosmology of the different cultures.
The shamanic journey occurs by shifting awareness in order to reach a broader state of consciousness. The drum with its repetitive rhythm shifts our individual “rhythm” and allows us to navigate the ocean of consciousness, that is to say the “spiritual” field.
